Day 15: The Seven Steps to the Anatomy of a “Good” Decision
Good decisions aren’t accidents – they’re the result of following a proven, systematic process.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
KEY INSIGHT: Great decisions aren’t made by accident – they follow a process. The best decision-makers use a clear, repeatable framework. From clarifying the problem to evaluating the outcome, each step builds clarity, reduces bias, and increases confidence. The 7 steps give structure to uncertainty and transform overwhelm into direction.
PERSONAL REFLECTION: Think back to a major decision you made. Did you follow a clear process – or just “wing it”? How did that affect the outcome? Admittedly the 7 Steps requires honesty, introspection, and deep-thinking. It comes with a cost in time and energy, but if you think going through the 7 Steps is “expensive”, wait till you get the bill for winging it!
TODAY’S EXERCISE: Think about a critical decision you’ve made in the past and consider an important decision you’ll have to make in the future. For your future decision, what will you do differently?
